Cody Simpson brings his Acoustic Sessions Tour to Dublin!

Australian teen heartthrob Cody Simpson rocked up to the Bord Gais Energy Theatre, Dublin on the 4th of July with his Acoustic Sessions Tour.

Like many other big named artists and bands currently on the music scene, Cody started out on Youtube back in 2009 when, at the age of just 12, he posted videos of himself singing. He was discovered by Shawn Campbell soon after and was signed to Atlantic Records. Baby faced cutie Cody moved to LA and his career took off with his first single in 2010 called iYiYi which features American Rapper Flo Rida. Over the last few years, Cody has experimented with his style of music and last year, he finally found what suits him best, which would be mellow pop with acoustic vibes. His style is highly influenced by his passion for surfing. In 2013, Cody toured the UK and Ireland to his own sell out crowds while also supporting Justin Bieber on his Believe Tour. The now not so baby faced cutie (yeah puberty has hit him VERY well, he is such a hottie now 😛 ) is causing a stir in the music industry with his talent.

I was extremely lucky to get tickets to see his Acoustic show and blessed to be front row (Thanks to my best friends Sophie and Jade for hooking me up 😉 )

Before the show, I managed to meet Justin Stirling, a close friend of Cody’s who is also part of his crew. Might I just add that he is extremely gorgeous too!

Cody asked American singer Jackson Harris to support him on the tour. I know you haven’t heard of him, but trust me, you want to know who he is! Jackson’s career also started out on Youtube when he posted a video of his cover of Jay-Z’s Empire State of Mind 4 years ago. He released his debut EP, “Sharks and Vampires” in February this year. I only heard of him recently and he totally wants me to fall in love with him as he done a cover of my all time favourites, 5 Seconds of Summer’s She Looks So Perfect – Check it out! [youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wRFLQpPkiAw&w=560&h=315]

Jackson certainly won over the crowd on the night, especially me. When he was singing his song Right Kind of Wrong, he spotted me singing along and of course I got all shy and embarrassed, which made him come over to right in front of me, he knelt down, held eye contact with me and smiled while sang to me  (It’s official, we are getting married!) That is every fangirl’s dream right there! God I am so lucky! If you check out this video, you’ll see a snippet of Jackson singing to me at 1:20 😉

Oops, got carried away there, back to the gig. Jackson sang a selection of his own songs and an incredible cover of One Direction’s Little Things. I highly advise you check out his stuff on iTunes. This guy is going places!

Cody rocked the stage soon after in his ripped jeans, black tee and bandana and the hundreds of girls screamed so loud, I think my hearing got worse! This tour is completely different to any of Cody’s previous tours, it’s stripped back completely. It’s just Cody, his guitar, and two members of his backing band (guitarist and drummer).

Cody sang 14 songs, including his hits Got Me Good, Wish You Were Here, Pretty Brown Eyes and Surfboard. Cody also does a few covers on the tour and has different ones nearly every night. In Dublin, he done a Justin Timberlake and Stevie Wonder Medley, as well as covering Elvis Presley’s Hound Dog. Now although it was an acoustic show, Cody couldn’t help himself from showing off a few moves to some of his more upbeat songs 😉 The 17 year old sent pulses racing with his sexy dance moves. Cody knows his fans (especially the older ones, like myself) very well so when the crowd chanted Take It Off (I honestly didn’t start it, I wish I did), he laughed and replied saying ‘I’m Cody Simpson, not Magic Mike’ but proceeded to lift up his top to tease us! 😉 When Cody sang is song Not Just You, he got
down on his knees in front of me while singing (I know, I am extremley lucky).

Here are some of my videos from his concert below :

After a short 48 hours in Ireland, he has now moved on to finish his European tour. So same time and place next year Cody? Yeahhh! 😀
