Life lately has been full of adventures, glitz and glam but behind it all, I’m still struggling with my chronic illnesses. With over 20 years of suffering with pain, I’ve somehow mastered how to hide it. While you’ll see me in a glam outfit, I am probably covered in pain patches and had to lay in bed for about 2/3 hours with a hot water bottle burning my abdomen while taking as many painkillers as I possibly can to be able to function. While you see me travelling all over the world and going to many events, I was probably lying on the bathroom floor that morning willing myself to get sick because of my crippling nausea. While you see me laughing and smiling, living my “best life”, I probably spent about 2 hours crying in pain behind closed doors. While you may have seen me dancing, the next day my legs were struggling to walk due to my sciatica and I was pushing through the debilitating fatigue. That’s the thing about some chronic illnesses, you can’t always see them. The last few days have finally caught up on my body, and I’m struggling with absolutely every symptom I’ve ever had, so today, I’m resting as much as I can with my hot water bottle so I can enjoy the next few days. I never thought at the age of 29 I’d have to plan rest days so that I can actually function and enjoy life!
